Why invest in cheltenham?

From our hugely ambitious plans to make Cheltenham the UK’s cyber capital with our game-changing investment in The Golden Valley Development to the massive investment in new homes and transport infrastructure across the town, things are changing in Cheltenham.

With a population of around 120,000, we’re already one of the largest urban centres in the South West. So whilst we may be a town, that doesn’t stop us thinking and acting like a city with a retail and cultural offer – and increasingly business base – that competes with anywhere in the region.

Our economy is forecast to almost double in value over the next decade, driven in part by the continued growth in cyber-tech and digital industries together with continued investment in housing across the borough.

Cheltenham is already one of the most accessible towns in the heart of the UK, but significant new investment in transport infrastructure will unlock further economic growth in the town and strengthen our position at the heart of the Western Gateway.

Our key growth sector is cyber, and our relationship with GCHQ puts us in a unique position to drive our ambition to become the UK’s cyber capital.

Recognised as a nationally significant development for the UK, Cyber Central will be a new campus and cyber-tech community set in a 45 hectare site at the heart of the 200 hectare Golden Valley Development and adjacent to GCHQ.

Elsewhere in the town, an enabling and forward thinking approach has helped to bring forward a number of new office space developments, new mixed use, leisure and hotel developments along with additional high quality trade, industrial and warehouse units.
